Into the Woods is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. After discovering they have been cursed by the witch from next door, the baker and the baker's wife venture into the woods, where danger and temptation lurks in every corner, to make their wish of having a child come true. On this journey, their paths cross with the stories of Cinderella, Jack and Little Red Riding Hood who are also trying to make their wishes come true. Each story is altered and intertwined, and each realize the repercussions of their desired “happily ever afters.”
