Philadelphia residents can take part in the excitement when “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” brings its road show to the Democratic National Convention this summer.

The show, in returning to the city, will set up camp from July 26 to 29 at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts as it covers who the Democrats will pick to make the party’s presidential run.

The Comedy Central program will produce a special week of shows as it covers the Democratic gathering, which starts July 25, as well as the Republican nomination convention, which begins July 18 in Cleveland.

“The Daily Show” coverage of the DNC will be telecast daily from the Annenberg Center, 3680 Walnut St., and the weeklong Philadelphia convention coverage is scheduled nightly at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Tickets for the tapings are free and only available through the dedicated “Daily Show” convention ticket website — not through the Annenberg Center. They can be requested via dailyshow.com/DNCtickets.

“The University of Pennsylvania is proud to welcome ‘The Daily Show’ to our campus during the Democratic National Convention. We hope visitors, students and local residents will enjoy the show and be part of this exciting event,” said Craig R. Carnaroli, executive vice president of the University of Pennsylvania.

This marks the fifth time “The Daily Show,” winner of 23 Emmy awards and two Peabody awards for Excellence in Broadcasting, has gone on the road to cover the political conventions. It previous stopped in Philadelphia in 2000 for the Republican National Convention.
